» The St. Bernadette Montessori Academy’s curriculum is designed to provide students with relevant learning towards building a strong educational foundation. Thus, the curriculum follows the Department’s K-12 Curriculum (Order No.31, S. 2012) for grade school to junior high school levels and injected with approach of Montessori teaching method for preschool level.
SBMA uses spiral approach of teaching in which subject or domains are interwoven and in developing knowledge and skills across grade levels in cumulative complexity.
Further, it is a strong conviction of SBMA to prepare all learners to be competitive on future global arena; therefore, it is a clear and an earnest need to improve our learners’ language skills by strictly using ENGLISH as a medium of communication inside and outside the classroom.

Character and Practical Life Development
» This area aims to invite the young learner to act and to work on real life situations that develop independence, coordination, order, and concentration.
» It also takes care of the development of the propriety of obeying rules, cordialities of life with classmates, teachers, and with their family members as called for under personal-social development.
» This area further covers the refinement of motor coordination through appropriate games, plays, and manipulative activities that foster physical fitness and development.
Sensorial Life, Physical Well- Being and Motor Development
» This area aims to develop gross motor skills and fine motor skills of learners
» This particularly develops the sensory-perceptual concept skills which greatly enhance the maturity of sense organs (eyes, ears, nose, tongue, and skin).
» This area further covers the refinement of motor coordination through appropriate games, plays, and manipulative activities that foster physical fitness and development.
Social and Emotional Development
» This domain aims to develop skills of learners for them to be able to relate with peers and adults within their environment.
» This area provides social interaction for learners through play dates, stage programs, personality development events and others.
» This area also aims to develop and maintain sense of self, empathy and belongingness by facilitating group sharing, observation, experiential and real-life learning.
Language Arts and Literacy Development
» This domain includes basics in reading, phonetic awareness, oral and written
language through songs, plays, storytelling and games.
» Textbooks and Workbooks are provided for reading and writing exercises
Mathematics (Numeracy Skills)
» This area provides for the development of skills like classifying, seriating, and
serializing objects according to sizes, colors, and shapes
» This area also covers simple addition and subtraction with sums/minuends on
numbers of more than ten by using concrete objects.
» Further, this area provides readiness for students to be able to transform
abstract concepts clear to concrete
Science
» This domain reflects learners’ understanding of physical and natural
environment.
» This area provides development of competencies in observing, describing,
comparing, identifying, and classifying things, objects, and events which could
be within the scope of the learner's environment and information in form of
science and health concepts.
» Further, it nurtures the learners’ interest with his or her surroundings in which
helps motivate a lifelong awareness and learning in observing life’s eventualities.
Arts
» This domain develops learners’ aesthetic sense and creative expression through
drawing, painting, and manipulative activities. Aesthetic progression includes the
inculcation of beauty in art, music, and movement, and generates opportunities
for the artistic expression of emotions, thoughts and ideas.
Geography
» This course provides an enriched general education that will prepare our graduates for higher education, world of work and lifelong learning. The integration of Entrepreneurship concepts prepares the students for productive employment and to set up their own business.
» Also, it is to learn the names and the location of world's continents and other
countries in logical harmony with the technological discoveries and
advancement in the context of the philosophy in this world that "no man is an
island."
ENGLISH COMMUNICATION ARTS
Grade School:
» This area is designed for the development of the learners’ language and communicative knowledge and skill. The program provides emphasis on the four rudimentary communication skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Competence in communication arts both oral and written in English is the main objective of this program. Hence, learner centered activities are performed by facilitators or teachers in this program. It enables students to speak their mind and express their thoughts in English language effectively.
Junior High School:
English Language Arts is intended to develop (1) communicative ability and (2) students' literacy and literacy skills. Develop native language skills in listening, speaking, reading, writing and watching with the help of various activities and strategies and techniques.
Grade School:
» Ito ay naglalayong malinang at mapaunlad ang kakayahan ng mga mag-aaral sa
moral na pagpapasya at paggawa ng mga pasyang batay sa idinidikta ng tamang konsensya.
Junior High School:Ang Filipino ay naglalayong malinang ang (1) kakayahang komunikatibo at (2) kahusayan sa pagunawa at pagpapahalagang pampanitikan ng mga mag-aaral. Lilinangin ang makrong kasanayan sa pakikinig, pagsasalita, pagbasa, pagsulat at panonood sa tulong ng iba’t-ibang dulog at pamamaraan.
Grades 1-3
» This area promotes students to demonstrate effective communication skills in talking about familiar to variety of subjects. Thus, cues vary for different levels. The complexity of topic rises as the grade level increases. This program tackles about basic to complex vocabulary, language structure and reading process, writing simple literary and informational texts in their first language.
G.M.R.C. GOOD MANNERS AND RIGHT CONDUCT/ E.S.P EDUKASYON SA PAGPAPAKATAO
Grade School and Junior High School:
» The G.M.R.C or E.S.P. program mainly aims for learners’ holistic character development. Thus, the importance of showing proper ethics and conduct is given importance in this program. The learners are expected to perform the following macro skills: understanding, reflecting oneself, collaboration with others, well-taught decision making and responsible action. Also, in this program, it hopes for the learners to have better understanding of the Word of God.
MATHEMATICS
Grade School:
» This program aims to demonstrate understanding and skill in basic concepts and ideas in mathematics. Further, this program develops learners’ skills in number sense, communication, reasoning, critical thinking, decision making and real-life problem solving through collaborative learning. This program further promotes daily life application, mastery of concepts as well as accuracy of learning content.
Junior High School:
This includes key concepts and principles of number sense, measurement, algebra, geometry, probability and statistics as applied, using appropriate technology, in critical thinking, problem solving, reasoning, communicating, making connections, representations and decisions in real life.
SCIENCE
Grade School:
» The Science education of St. Bernadette Montessori Academy pursues to engross students in participative learning. This program aims mainly to enhance learners’ awareness and understanding of our community and environment through relevant learning. Hence, learners are to be equipped with growth mindset to lead the community in protecting our environment.
Further, the science education aims to improve scientific literacy among learners that will prepare them to be informed and participative citizens who are able to make judgment and decisions regarding applications of scientific knowledge that may have social, health, or environmental impacts. The science curriculum recognizes the place of science and technology in everyday human affairs. It integrates science and technology in the civic, personal, social, economic, and the values and ethical aspects of life. Junior High School:
» This course contracts with the basic theories in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Earth/Space Science. It focuses on how the students will be aware and understand the practical everyday problems that they may encounter in their lives and those around them.
MAPEH
Grade School:
» MAPEH contains Music, Arts, Physical Education, and Health studies. The following programs are as follows:
The Music Program is performance based learning. Learner centered approach is used to perform this program through learners’ dynamic participation. This program aims for the learners to improve their skills, values, artistic expression and cultural literary through various activities i.e. tone identification through listening, cultural dancing, musical exercises, etc.
» The Art Program of SBMA is integrated to all subjects. Thus, this program focuses more on creating their own art experience grounded with art knowledge content throughout this program. This program aims for our learners to recognize, create, appreciate, and evaluate arts. Further, it targets to develop creative thinking skills, and improvement of exquisite aesthetic perception.
» The Physical Education Program aims to develop physical fitness, health and wellness, and mental alertness of SBMA learners. This program also promotes the value of sportsmanship in which aims to respect fairness and properly behave in sports activities.
» The Health Program from Kindergarten to Grade 6 focuses on the physical, mental, emotional, moral, and spiritual dimensions of health and enables the learners to acquire essentials knowledge, attitudes, and skills necessary to promote good nutrition, prevent and control diseases and substance use and abuse, reduce health-related risk behaviors to prevent and control injuries with the end in view of maintaining and improving personal, family community, national and global health. » For Music and Art, it bonds with the study of man’s aesthetic expression through sounds and visuals mirroring the sentiments and ideas of society and culture, and subsidizing to the development of individual and collective identity. For Physical Education and Health, these stimulate the development of active and healthy lifestyle and contract with physical, mental, emotional, social, moral, and spiritual dimensions that facilitate learners to acquire essential knowledge, attitudes, and skills.
ARALING PANLIPUNAN
Grade School:
» Ang asignaturang ito ay naglalayon na malinang ang kaisipan ng mga mag-aaral tungkol sa pagiging responsableng mamayan ng Pilipinas. Tinatalakay sa asignaturang ito ang kasaysayan ng kultura ng Pilipinas, mahahalagang isyung panlipunan, heograpiya ng Pipilinas, konsepto ukol sa pananagutan para sa kabutihan ng panlahat sa pamamaraan ng talakayan, talumpatian, pagpupulong, debate atbp.. Ang programang ito ay naglalayon din na paunlarin ang maganda, mabuti at kakaibang kulturang Pilipino.
Junior High School:
» Ang asignaturang ito ay naglalayong tumalakay sa kasaysayan ng Pilipinas at ng mundo gamit ang sipi ng mga piling primaryang sanggunian mula sa iba’t – ibang panahon at uri. Ito rin ay tumutulong upang magpamalas ng malalim na pang-unawa sa mga pangunahing kaisipan at napapanahong isyu.
COMPUTER EDUCATION

» The main goal of computer education at SBMA is to develop technologically literate learners through knowledge content and practical exercises. Also, this program aims to promote awareness in responsible use of technological materials (software and hardware).

» Technology and Livelihood Education or Edukasyong Pantahanan at Pangkabuhayan develops knowledge, skills, values and attitude in Agriculture, Entrepreneurship and Information Communication Technology (ICT), Home Economics and Industrial Arts that can help improve self, family and community life considering sustainable development. Junior High School:
» This course provides an enriched general education that will prepare our graduates for higher education, world of work and lifelong learning. The integration of entrepreneurship concepts prepares the students for productive employment and to set up their own business.
RESEARCH AND STATISTICS
Grade 10
» This course develops critical thinking and problem-solving skills of the learners through quantitative and/or qualitative research. This will help the learners to appreciate the value of research in the area of interest. It also allows the learners to apply their prior knowledge and deepen their understanding of the community and its environment.
